Enrico Isamu Ōyama’s Solo Exhibition "Found Object"(COURTYARD HIROO Gallery)

Enrico Isamu Ōyama’s solo exhibition Found Object will be held from September 1 (Friday) through September 30 (Saturday) at COURTYARD HIROO Gallery.

Ōyama will showcase 15 new pieces of his “Found Object” series at this exhibition. The series features Quick Turn Structure, an abstract motif Ōyama applies on a range of the surface of anonymous objects, such as framed drawings, photographs, and prints which he finds in thrift stores in New York and other US cities. Ōyama starts off creating pieces of the series by looking for and encountering random objects which locations he finds them in are marked on the work captions. Faded, stained paper and damaged frames let viewers imagine the past life of those anonymous objects. This is his first exhibition which places sole emphasis on the “Found Object” series.

As a closing program of the exhibition, a collaborative performance between Ōyama and dancers from Co. YAMADAUN will take place at 6:30 p.m. on September 30 (Saturday), the final day of this exhibition.

Enrico Isamu Ōyama Solo Exhibition “Like a Prime Number” to Be Held in London

Enrico Isamu Ōyama’s solo exhibition Like a Prime Number, hosted by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation in London, will begin on February 26.

“FFIGURATI,” a term coined by Ōyama himself and used as the title for his works, is a word that generates a continuity of singularities, just like the series of prime numbers. This solo exhibition, titled Like a Prime Number, will focus on the role that “FFIGURATI” plays in the context of his work.

We hope you will take this opportunity and stop by to see this exhibition in London!
