Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi: "Journey" (Chiba City Museum of Art)

From July 14 to September 9, the artist duo Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi will be participating in Chiba City Museum of Art’s exhibition titled Journey.

 

In line with the exhibit’s theme, Yamashita and Kobayashi will be showcasing their video work “Rubbing a Camel”: a video installation in which a bronze statue of a camel is repeatedly rubbed for five months as they travel through Egypt, Spain, Switzerland, and Germany.

 

In addition, on August 11 (Sat), the artist duo will conduct a workshop which corresponds with the national holiday Mountain Day.

Period: July 14 (Sat)-September 9 (Sunday)

Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Open until 8 p.m. on Fridays & Saturdays)

Closed: August 6 (Mon), September 3 (Friday)

Admission Fee: Adults ¥200; University Students ¥150; With a certification of disability, admission is free along with an accompanying caregiver.

Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi: "New Japan”(Solyanka State Gallery)

The artist duo Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi is currently participating in a group exhibition at Moscow’s Solyanka State Gallery. The exhibition titled New Japan will be held from Friday, April 27 through Thursday, June 21, 2018. 
 
There, Yamashita and Kobayashi will showcase three video pieces: infinity, 1000Waves, and telepathy.  
 
If you happen to be in Moscow, we hope you’ll visit this multimedia group exhibition by contemporary Japanese artists.

Rafaël Rozendaal: Solo Exhibition "GENEROSITY" at Towada Art Center (Aomori, Japan)/ Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2018 "Mapping the Invisible"

Rafaël Rozendaal’s solo exhibition will be held at Towada Art Center (Aomori, Japan) from February 10 (Sat) through May 20 (Sun). This is his first solo exhibition at an art museum.
 
He will also participate in Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2018 “Mapping the Invisible” at Tokyo Photographic Art Museum from February 9 (Fri) through February 25 (Sun).
